The ALMOST End of Term 2 Mastery Review

Mastery Review is coming to an end. I don't think I work REALLY hard this time. Even if I were to regret, it's too late. 1 more paper to go, Maths. Sianzzz... This few days are really tiring, as in mentally exhausted and not physically.

Mastery Review Schedule
25 Apr, Fri - English Paper: Quite tough, my mind was in a not-thinking-at-all state then.
28 Apr, Mon - Chinese: Average, but as usual, no confidence
29 Apr, Tue - Geography: A little tougher than average
30 Apr, Wed (Today) - Science: Average: I managed to get a really tough question correct, builds up my confidence a tiny weeny bit.
2 May, Fri - Maths: Must study hard. It can't be like English.

Btw, that "really tough question" was:
Ethanol is an alcohol and it is mixed with water to form ethanol solution. Name 3 differences between Ethanol and ethanol solution. [3m]

Suggested answers (might be wrong):
- Ethanol is pure while ethanol solution is impure.
- Ethanol is a compound while ethanol solution is a mixture.
- Ethanol can only be separated by chemical means while ethanol solution can only be separated by physical methods.

I know they are stupid answers. Ok.. Nvm about that.. If they seemed wrong to you, feel free to write in the CBox. At least I would know that marks will be deducted.

Another School Day - 29 April 2008, Tuesday

Everything was normal today. Except in the morning, my dad fetch me to School instead. Did I mentioned that I am extra sleepy today? I was like burning the midnight oil yesterday night study for the Geography Test today. Tomorrow is Science and I've got lots of revision to do, so I better make this a quick post. At the last lesson today, which is Maths, I slept. Omg!!! I actually slept in Mr Teo's class. I really need to be more alert. 3 Mastery Reviews just went pass. 2 more to go. So I have to buck up. And not to mention, catch more sleep.
After School, some of us have to go for the New South Wales Test thing, including me. Getting a Distinction in that is a very prestigious thing. I had 2 Distinctions for Maths and Science when I was in Primary 3. It seriously rocks. But this time, I don't think I am gonna get it. I didn't complete 9 questions in time!!! Better luck next year, boy... *Sigh*
After all that procrastination, we (Nicholas, Bobo and Polar Bear) went home. We all take the same bus from the same bus stop. As we waited for the bus, a Service Number 13 Bus came. It made noises like it was about to break down and explode. It was half-true. It suddenly stopped. Just nice, another "13" bus came. It transported the passengers from the spoilt bus to the "Emergency Bus". I got a video of it:

13 - The Unlucky Bus Number...

EMOzzz...

Today is another lame day. I know this sentence discourages people from continuing to read. But be prepared, what you are about to read is 70 Lpt (Lamepoints), it may cause damage. Everything was normal. But I guess it is too normal to be called normal. Anyway, the whole day was normal, with me as normally tired as normal. Except Maths, where things got a little out of normal...
We got back our Revision Test Paper. Guess how much I got?
9/15!!! Bad, isn't it? Even Cher Han got better than me. I am really "deproving". I even forgotten to do a question. And even if I have completed that question and got it right, Cher Han would still have won me. I really stink (and suck and any other word to call a loser like me). I guess from now onwards, I should spell my name without capital letters.

Good huh? Both questions correct. But look at that thing that says: (b)? See how stupid I am? I did part (a) but missed part (b).

As it says: What happened to the fraction??

P.s. I kinda like self-humiliating. I guess I need a councillor.

1... 2... 3... Yay!!!

Today is kinda lame, with my brother and I waking up early to prepare for the basketball game but turned down. Shall not elaborate... Anyway, my mama and I went to Punggol Park for a jog. It has been a long time since we went there. I missed that little cat there which goes "MEOW" when it saw you. It's so cute. Hahax..
After one round, which is like 800m, my mama was like, "I want my mama!!!". Okay.. Not exactly but you get the main idea.. We went to the Fitness Corner a while later. As last week was HBL, I didn't went to the Chin Up bar for 2 days. I know that we only have to do Chin-ups for Napfa at Sec 3 but the IPM (Incredible Pumping Machine) must be able to do at least 5. That guy can do 8 pull-ups while I can only do 2. At least I "own" him in pumping. Hahax.. So I was like looking at the bar, determined to do 3 (or more). I jumped, and caught the bar, then did my first pull-up. Using the remaining energy, I did my second. Normally I can only do two, with my chin almost touching the third one, and then give up. But this time, it's a different story. I did my third one. I tried the forth one but to no avail. But I am already contented enough.

P.s. I just have to a few more Chin-ups to win my Master Sergeant.

Home-Based Learning - Day 2

This is the second day of Home-based Learning. It is as lame as the day before. First "lesson" is English. We are supposed to make comic strips and post a post in the Vocabulary Blog created my Form Teacher.
Then came Chinese, we have to download this Revision Exercise and complete it, then print. This is dumb!!! We have to print everything!!! Why would we even need to print if it is called "Home-based Learning"???
Later was a break time. I slacked, watching television and playing games. But it's only 30 minutes.

Following that was Science, we have to complete a quiz and again, complete and print an Revision Paper.
Next, we have Maths. Just like yesterday, I have to CHIONG for the Maths Quiz as there isn't enough time. Yesterday, I got 72%, almost an A1. So close... But for today, I got 92%!!! YAY!!!
After that, we have to complete a survey. And that's all for HBL.

Home-Based Learning - Day 1

Sianzzzation is today. Seriously. Home-based Learning is more like a bunch of homework thrown to you expecting you to do it. It's more like Homework-Doing than Home-based Learning. We don't learn much but we do MUCH!!!
Anyway, for HBL, we also have a Time-table to follow. The first "lesson" is D&T. We were supposed to make a Design Folio or whatever you call that. It's really lame. We were supposed to complete it during that lesson. But since nobody knows, who cares? I just completed it anyway. Hahax.. I am having that "don't care" attitude nowadays. Gotta change before something happens.
Next "lesson" is Maths. There's a quiz. Most people say it is "damn hard" but it's still fine. But because of time constraint, I also think it's "damn hard".
Following that is a 30 minutes break. But because I spent an extra 15 minutes to CHIONG the quiz. I only had 15 minutes to rest.
Then, it's Chinese. We have to print a "Test" and do it. Or we can also do then print. I decided to do the second alternative. Since we only have to hand in the printed copy on Friday. Again, who cares??? So I slacked. *ME in my lame world*
I guessed I overshot my slacking time and ate into the Science time. For Science, we have to do the NEWater thing. Since we have to hand in the printed copy on Friday again. Again, who cares??? Okay, this time I care. I did it so it is ready for printing. But after doing it, I didn't notice there was another thing we had to do for Science. There's also a quiz. It was a easy one, with no time constraint this time. But I only noticed it at 4pm. It was crazy. My name appeared on the so-called "haven't do list". On Friday, I will be so dead.
That's all for HBL.

P.s. Quote of the Day:
Yesterday is History. Tomorrow is Mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called Present.
- Anonymous

P.s.s. Although I like this quote, but it's not true. Tomorrow is not a mystery. Tomorrow is a copy of Today, just like Yesterday.

P.s.s.s. Life is lame. It can be so lame that it might drive one to death. If you read in the news tomorrow that a 13-years-old boy committed suicide because he thinks life is lame, that pathetic guy might be me. So please respect that minute of silence. JKJK!!! Haha!!! I know it's lame. Just something to spice up life. If Wei Liang sees this, he would certainly show me that DIAO face.

Another School Day - 22 April 2008, Tuesday

It has been a long time since I last posted. Life's tough. With my dad around, it's hard to find time to blog, especially when I have to do it secretly. Whenever I get a chance to use the computer, I hardly have anything to post. Life is so... What's that word to describe the same thing everyday? Yup! Monotonous... Life is like a book with the same thing on every page. Nothing seems to be different. Yesterday is today, today is tomorrow. Even the date on the white board doesn't change. It still says 17 April. Haha!!! Okay. I'll go straight to the point.

Today, after School, we had to go to Toa Payoh Indoor Stadium to watch the Basketball Finals', featuring Catholic High School (YAY!!!) vs Jurong Secondary School (BOO!!!). Haha!!! Jkjk... But bad news, I have to go for swimming. Sad... So from 4 - 5.30, we swam while the rest of the Student Body went to Toa Payoh Stadium and cheered. At 6, when the lesson ends, I headed for J8 to grab some bites. After that, things went as usual. I took a bus home. On that bus, there were like so many CatHigh pupils. I SMSed Wei Liang and found out that he was in a bus. When I looked at his message, he stated that his bus was at AMK Station. Mine was in front of AMK. Haha!!! Semi-coincidence... Is there such a word? Well, nvm. So the gap between his bus and mine decreased. When I saw Bobo and him alight from the bus in front of mine. I was like waving frantically at them. They took ages to see me!!! Yan Xiu was right. They take a loonnngggg time to notice things. Anyway, after we wave to each other like we didn't see each other for ages, things were back to normal.

P.s. Tomorrow's Home-Based Learning, which means today is another Day-of-Slack. Tomorrow morning, 37 1-3ians will be online at the same time. It's a natural phenomenon.

P.s.s.
Calling all 1-3ians: Tomorrow make sure you take attendance early. Got prize de, so dun b l8 ar..

NCC Training - 18 Apr 2008
Full Strength: 29
Present Strength: 29
Toughness of Training (also known as Sergeant's mood): 67.5%
Dismissal Time: 6.40 pm
Reach Home Time: 8.10 pm
Interesting Stuff: N.A. This Training is so lame and boring that there's nothing interesting to post about. Just Encik and the other Sergeants saying their last words as this would be the last training they will be taking us. It's so disappointing. I thought we would be joking around but they were like so serious saying our drills standards sucks, etc. I know it is true when we are compared to NCC (Air) but c'mon, this is suppose to be a touching ending. Tsk tsk tsk...

My Beret... NNOOO!!!!!!!!!

Like another Thursday, I was preparing for NCC Training the next day.
No.4 Uniform - Check
Boots polished? - Check
Socks ready? - Check
PT Kit - Check
Beret - Erm...
So I was searching for my beret. It should be on the rack. But it wasn't there. I thought it might be under the sofa. (For "seasoning" it into the right shape) It's there. But I don't remember seasoning it the week before. When I took a closer look... The beret is not in the right shape!!! And it is there for one whole week!!! It must be my maid. She was outside and I was waiting for her to come back. It's like a volcano ready to explode but waiting for the right timing. Anyway, my mama thought that ironing it would help to change the beret's shape in time. To make a long story short, it did. And I was safe. You wouldn't want to know what will happen if Master Sergeant saw that strange shape.

Another School Day - 15 April 2008, Tuesday

To make things fast, Sequence of Event:

Morning before Assembly - Report for being late

IT - Listen to the NLB (National Library Board) thing

Art - Play with clay. Made sickening shapes. People from Register no. 19 to 37 should know what I mean.

English - Discussed about poems and stories.

Recess - As usual, went FC (Fitness Corner) after eating. Today, more of 1-3ians appear at FC. I did 2 pull ups!!! YAY!!! After that, Benedict, Cher Han, Lucas, Jia Hao and I did Chain Pumping for fun. Most of them did 150 and stopped. Only Ben and I continued.

Geography - Nothing much, as normal as normal.

Chinese - Lame. Teacher kept throwing us with homework. When too many things happen at the same time, my brain will literally break down. I would not be able to think and feel like sleeping.

Science - We learn about Acids and Alkaline today. We were fascinated when the Universal Indicator changes its colour.

Maths - Did word problems on Algebra. I CHIONG the questions. After that, I slept. Omg!!! I was really tired. What I did was crazy!!! It was like riding a motorcycle doing matrix through raging fire or some shit like that. Okay.. Not exactly. But sleeping in Mr Teo's Class is DANGEROUS!!! He is the Discipline Master, you know?

After School - Swimming lessons in the rain.

P.s. Sorry again for the inconsistent dates of posts.

P.s.s. If you notice, this post is filled with Singlish and inappropriate language structure. It is used to speed things up.

P.s.s.s It would be unlikely to see lengthy posts these days.

Another School Day - 14 April 2008, Monday

After the Chalet Stay for the Weekend, I went back late. I seriously mean late, unless 11 pm isn't late to you. I got to sleep at 12.30 am. You know? Sometimes, I admire myself for the ability to sleep only 5 hours a day. But today, this "ability" loses control. I slept 6 hours today!!! An hour more means more sleep and more trouble. Guess what? I was late!!! I woke up at 6.30 am!!! I guess I don't have to explain the CHIONGing process. You guys know how it is like. I reached School 5 minutes late (7.50 am)!!! Thanks to that stupid bus that block my bus. As you know, in Cat High, being late is a serious offence. So for being late the second time, I have to report at 7.15 every morning instead of the usual 7.45. X(

Aloha!!!

After NCC Training, I went directly to Pasir Ris for the Chalet Stay at Loyang Aloha for the Weekend. It was normal. But having to withstand the deadly criticism of my relatives aren't. For Saturday and Sunday, it was full of walking-here-and-there, listening to stories, hearing stupid critics, swimming, eating BBQ Food (Yum!!!) and more of walking-here-and-there. But for Saturday I escape a little of the blabbering as I went to Sheldon's place to CHIONG the Chemistry Project. Man!!! Am I lucky or what? Both of the Science Brainiacs are in my group: Sheldon and Justinian. The class joker too: Andrew. And what's more? No slackers in the group!!! (I was referring to Cher Han) So after 2 hours there, I went back to the Chalet. The first thing I wanted to do there is to join them for a dip in the pool. So things went like how they should and everything ended when the Weekends did.

Interesting Stuff: This training was like... normal? I don't know. It started with us (the 1-3 Cadets) being late. Our Chinese Teacher dismiss us late. We only have 30 minutes to change into our No. 4 Uniform and grab a bite. You might think it's a lot of time but wearing a No. 4 is not easy. So there we were, late. Next we did lots of drills. From the weeks before I notice something. Somebody in our platoon is always that "hai ren jing". WTH!!! That guy is always doing sloppy drills. When we have to turn, he would literally "walk" to the correct angle when he should be sliding his soles!!! Anyway, for PT, we ran around the school 3 times as a company (not Own Time Own Target), which is about 2.1 km. Then we had soccer. I was the defender. I managed to block the ball thrice. One of which I ram the ball and it hit the IC's face. Omg!!! He is going to be a 1st Sergeant or a Staff Sergeant in a month's time. When he get the post, he would be asking, "Who ram the ball and hit my face last month ar??? KNOCK IT DOWN!!!". And I would be sssoooooo DEAD. Forget about that, I guess he isn't such a sadist. He appears to be kind. So, the training ended quite early. Oh ya!!! Did I mentioned that one of our Staff Sergeant had his shoe broken in the game? What a joke!!!

Another School Day - 10 April 2008, Thursday

Like any other days, adventure starts after school. Speaking of it, life with Wei Liang Gor and Bobo didi are getting lesser. (I have to get used to calling them my brothers. Not to mention how hard it is) I am only free on Mondays and Thursdays. Tuesday is occupied by swimming (YAY!!!). Infocomm Training is on Wednesday. NCC Training is on Friday (Double YAY!!!). So anyway, there we were in the McDonald's at Ang Mo Kio. Both Gor and Di bouht a meal. I redeem a 9-piece nugget using the EZ-Link Points thing. McDonald's decided that they would close down the points system thing. Sad. I traded a nugget for 10 of Bobo's fries and 2 nuggets for 10 of Wei Liang's fries and a little of his Milo After eating, we decided to go home as there are lots of stuff to do. We were at the bus stop in front of AMK Hub when one of us saw this disgusting sight: Guess what? Nope, not a dead body... It is a... A Dead Mouse!!!

We were like "Oh my gosh!!!". We started whipping out our phones and snap pictures. I bet this same picture would also appear in Bobo and Wei Liang's Blogs. Did I mentioned that we missed the Bus no. 88 that went passed? Anyway, 74 came in a few minutes. We took it. When it reach their stop, they did not press the "STOP" Button and they missed it. They decided to stop at the next stop and walk back. But when it reaches the next stop, they did the same mistake again. Haha!!! Twice Bitten, Thrice shy!!! Haha!!! So they learnt what the stop button is for and press it the third time.
Here I am now, blogging. I just received a message from Wei Liang. He said that they were lost. Haha!!! They thought it would be good if they walk instead of taking a bus from the opposite side. Remember the time Wei Liang said that I am lost in Ang Mo Kio. Now, so is he!!! HAHAHA!!! What a disgrace!!! At least I wouldn't be lost in Hougang, my own estate. And to think that they said that they know every corner of Ang Mo Kio...

Another School Day - 9 April 2008, Wednesday

Today, it is just like any other day. Sequence of lame events:
English - Nothing much were done. A little discussion and that's all.

D & T - We continued on our name plates, which mine is completed. YAY!!! So for the next hour and 30 minutes, I slack. Okay... Not exactly but I started on a new thing, which is the making of a flute using a pipe. It was easy. Haha!!! It looked tough but trust me, it's no sweat. How hard can drilling holes into pipes be?

Recess - Went to Student Lounge instead of the Canteen. Wilson boy-boy treated me to the Lo Mai Kai he made during Home Econ. Omg!!! He should really be a chef.

Science - Today, we went to the Life Science Laboratory to do the inscription of DNA. It is so complicated. Here are the steps (might not be accurate due to the infection of my brain to STM):

1. Pour Salt Solution and Detergent into the Banana blend and stir. The Detergent is to wash the Banana blend and make sure it is clean.

2. Measure 70ml of it and pour it into a beaker.

3. Put 1ml of papaya juice into the mixture and put the mixture into the "oven" at 60 degree Celsius. The papaya juice contains an enzyme that "eats up" the cell proteins.

4. After the heating, the beaker is put into the ice box and is stirred for 5 minute. As DNA decomposes in room temperature, it has to be cooled.

5. It is poured into a filter funnel with a filter paper to remove the impurities like the Detergent and the enzymes. The filtrate collected in the beaker contains DNA of the Banana Plant and Salt.

6. The filtrate is placed into the ice box and Ethanol (an alcohol) is added. It is placed in the box for a few minutes. The final result would look like this:

The "bubbles" are actually the DNA. It is stable unless you shake it.

It appears to be blue as it is shined against a blue light. It should be colourless. Seeing the DNA, our one and a half hour of hard work pays off.

P.s. Sorry for the inconsistent dates of the posts. I hardly have the time to blog so I would just throw a bunch of posts in when I have time.

P.s.s. I dreamt of Mrs Ang teaching in Cat High yesterday night. What a weird dream... When I woke up, I couldn't sleep. I miss the way Mrs Ang joked and made fun of everything. And how 6D mess around in that total childish manner. Please... Someone please organise a class party or something. Where's that 6D spirit that used to be overwhelming the whole of NCPS?

Notice something? Most of my posts have their title with the word "another". It's just to show the lacking of zest in life; it's just getting boring.
Anyway, today is a bad day for a dip in the pool. The bad weather and the continuous rain fall explains why. We only swam for 30 minutes. The next half was cancelled due to the increase in the intensity of the rain. Everybody was freezing and our bags are all wet. I longed for this day and yet a rain is all it takes to ruin everything. Oh great!!!

NCC Affirmation Ceremony 2008

Last Saturday, we have Affirmation Ceremony. It is to introduce us to NCC and show us what it really is. We fall in and did some administration matters before setting out for Singapore Indoor Stadiums. In the bus, we had to sing some NCC songs like "Down by the River" and "AIRBORNE". We were taught a new song. It is damn funny sia. There's a part which goes:
Go study,
Get degree,
So happy,
Can't forget,
Still remember,
It's my rifle and my body and mmeeee......
At the Stadium, there was like thousands of other Cadets from other schools. We were made to sit there for 5 hours watching the performance and listening to speeches. The performance rocks!!! I mean it. The free form drill performance was cool. Some of the moves look strange. The PDS (Precision Drill Squad) from HCINCC (Hwa Chong Institution NCC) really rocks sia!!! They were like so cool with their rifles. My cousin is performing there too. *CLAPS to HIM!!!* They had two performance. Both performances, someone dropped the rifle. I feel so sorry for him. Anyway, everything ended at about 5 pm, smoothly...

Toughness of Training (also known as Sergeant's mood): 60%
Dismissal Time: 7.20 pm
Reach Home Time: 8.30 pm
Interesting Stuff: This training is damn slack. We did a little drills and learn a new one: vesurise (not sure of how to spell) While we were practising, there was a crow flying in the sky with a brown thing in front of it. The brown thing made a squeaking sound constantly. It sounded like a mouse being grabbed by the crow. TING!!! The brown thing hit the School fence behind Encik. He was stunned, next he was like, "WOW!!!" He called for all the sergeant to view that brown thing. I took a glimpse at it and you know what? It's a bat!!! The crow must have been chasing it in the sky, trying to get a good tea break. The bat was safe and the day continued. We have a mini "NAPFA Test". I did 3 pull-ups (non-inclined), 10:20 for shutter run, 13:15 for 2.4 km, 1.79m for standing broad jump and 46 sit-ups. We skipped sit-and-reach as our sergeants thought it is noob. That's all for the day.

Another School Day - 2 April 2008, Wednesday

Today's Wei Liang's Birthday, as well as my mum's. But it's seemed like any normal day. It started with a short NCC Meeting about this Saturday's Affirmation Ceremony. My Cousin will be performing that day there while I will be watching him. Haha!!! What an honour!!! Next was English. Mrs Lim did not come yesterday. But today, she came. It proved to be a bad thing as she was screaming and shouting because we did not understand what we had to do about the Project. Typical 1-3... Adults just cannot accept the fact that Teenagers need time to think and digest the crap they are talking about. Next was D & T. YES!!! I finally completed my circuit. I finished everything!!! At the same time, Cher Han is still NOOBing with his circuit. He thought his circuit had went haywire when it's just the batteries that are flat. Hahax!!! RECESS!!! Nothing much to talk about. After recess was Science. We were suppose to have a Test but Ms Khoo had a change of plans. We went to the Science Lab instead. We did experiments on Distillation, Filtration and Chromatogaphy. It is so COOL!!! After the experiments, I took a picture secretly:

My Chromatogram with the residue of the Sand Solution in the Filter Paper.

Justinian's Chromatogram

We had Class Contact Time after Science. Our School believes that spending quality time as a class is important. Unfortunately, our class thinks that it's Time to Slack. We discussed about the game stall we will be setting up in the Homecoming, which is a few months later. Sheldon and Friends won the Vote and decided that we have a Penalty Shootout Stall. Sheldon is really good in the Politics. He can persuade and debate really well. We have Weekly Assembly next. There were Turkish introducing us to their culture in conjunction to International Friendship Day. There was a Turkish Ice-Cream Man selling ice-cream. I really really really wanted to buy. He will do all sorts of stunts and trick you (in conjunction to April's Fool I guess) before he sell you the ice-cream. I wanted to buy but it costs 2 bucks!!! Too expensive!!! I have to save $$$. That's all I see these days.

P.s. Every time, my mind only has two things: $$$ and ZZZ. I can never get enough sleep even in the Weekends. I only have 6-7 hours of sleep per day.

P.s.s. To Yoong Jin Gor: You are going for the NCC Affirmation Ceremony hor? Cya there!!!

I can SWIM!!!

Well, not exactly but I LLOOOVVVVEEEEE to exagerate things. Today, we have swimming lessons for non-swimmers. It's an event organised by the School. Did I mention I can't swim? (Not really, I can with a rubber duckie or a float) But after today's lesson, I can...... FLOAT!!! And also "swim" without a rubber duckie. So at least I would not drown. But before the Swimming Lesson started, Melvin and I was trying to get to the Swimming Complex. It stinks!!! We took Bus 410 on the wrong side but I thought it would work since it is a Loop Bus. But my definition of Loop Bus didn't seemed to be what I thought. So we took 20 minutes taking the wrong bus and ended up somewhere in Raffles Junior College!!! Lolx!!! I can hear Wei Liang laughing as he reads this post. Brother, this time I am not lost in Ang Mo Kio but Bishan!!! Happy???

P.s.
To Somebody: Heart isn't meant to be broken that way. It doesn't really matter who's in the wrong, it only matters who's trying to save the situation. Pointing a finger at someone else also means pointing 4 fingers to yourself.

P.s.s. Today is April's Fool. That means my mother's birthday is tomorrow. How???

P.s.s.s. And it's also Wei Liang's birthday tomorrow. Good thing I have IMedia CCA tomorrow, don't have to treat him. Hahax... Brother, better luck next time...
