NCC Training - 29 Feb 2008 Full Strength: 29 Present Strength: 29 Toughness of Training (also known as Sergeant's mood): 70% Dismissal Time: 7.30 pm Reach Home Time: 8.30 pm Interesting Stuff: Our Staff Sergeant is now being promoted to Master Sergeant, which is commonly called or known as "Encik". For PT, we did Chain Pumping. Everyone pump once when it's his turn. Then, the guy beside him will also pump one. Then, it just goes on like a wave. But each platoon has approximately 30 people and we have 3 platoons, that makes 90. So while we waited for our turn in pumping position, we pump extra for fun. I was caught by Encik doing Commandos. He punished me by asking me to pump another 10 more commandos. Then he tested me with 10 "Diamond" Pumping. Somewhat I managed to do it. Then he introduced me to "Spiderman" Pumping and ask me to do 10 of it. After that, he went to the Part C's (also known as the Sec 3) and told their Staff Sergeant something. After that, I was given the name "Incredible Pumping Machine". And for today, everyone forgotten my name. It's like I didn't have one after being called "Incredible Pumping Machine". You can say it's also an honour. After getting that name, we ran a round outside the school, which is 3 km. I don't see why we were doing that since we have a jogging track. It occurred to me that I had learnt a new trick during the run. Think of anything except the fatigue, and you can just run on and on without stopping.

The Leap Year
In 2 hours' time, it is the Leap Year Day. It's 29th of February, a day which only comes every 4 years. 4 years ago, I didn't even know about this leap year thingy. It happens because a extra quarter of a day is not counted in the 365 days of the past 3 years and therefore, accumulated. This accumulation results the extra day, which is literally made up of the 4 quarters of a day. How cool is that!!! It's like... I've been waiting for this day since 4 years ago, and now, it's coming...

Another School Day - 28 February 2008, Thursday
Today, Jia Hao (a fellow NCC Cadet who is the second in Class for pumping) asked me if I wanted to complete some homework in the School Library. Being free, I agreed. After completing our Maths Algebra Homework, we went to the School Fitness Corner and do pull-ups and stuff. I did the inclined pull-up, the non-inclined and the monkey bar. My hands were like so rough (and pain) after that. The skin in my hands tore and trust me, it wasn't a pretty sight. At the bus stop, I met Wei Liang. He treated me some drinks. See? Pathetic, isn't it? Right then, I only had 5 cents! Somehow, I accepted his treat. We went to AMK Hub. He ordered a plate of rice, while I, the poor beggar watch him ate. Temptation... Jia Hao once said money is everything, I agree now.
P.s. I lost my red file today. It must be that thief! I took it out from the locker this morning and put it under my desk. And after recess, it's missing!!! Whoever that @&*#)$ is, if I ever find out, I'm gonna make him get expelled from the School. Nobody messes up with me and gets away with it. I didn't have my display message there for nothing.

Another School Day - 27 Feb 2008, Wednesday
Like most other days, the adventure begins after school. I am supposed to go for IMedia Info comm Training but I couldn't find the place so I ended up hanging up with Wei Liang and Bo Jun (2 adventurous and interesting guys). They always take a bus to AMK Hub but hang out somewhere around Ang Mo Kio instead of the Mall itself. Today, we went to... well, actually I don't know where exactly we went. I just know that we were at a park (which looks more like jungle) that is near to the McDonald's (this McDonald's comes with a Drive In™ facility and a playground nearby) in Ang Mo Kio. We had lunch there and wondered around the so called "Jungle". We were walking (and also jogging) aimlessly just for the sake of killing time. Fyi, I managed to reach home by 6.
P.s. Today, our teachers scolded us for: 1. Someone hacked into someone else's Virtual Singapura's Account and said **** to our teacher. But unfortunately, the someone is not known. 2. Someone hacked into someone else's ACE-Learning Account and again say **** to our teacher. Again, the someone is unknown. 3. Ever since our Class Chairman lose the classroom lock, things have been going missing and apparently there's a thief in the class (or the school).
That looks like a job for ME!!! Jkjk... But I believe I'll have fun playing "Detective".

Another School Day - 26 Feb 2008, Tuesday
Right now, I need nothing more than sleep. And because of sleep, I got myself into a time-wasting, energy-wasting and money-wasting situation. It all started after school... I decided to grab I bite before I head home so I got myself a packet of Cheezels. At the Students' Lounge (also known as the Students' Paradise), I almost fell asleep. That motivated me to rush home to catch some Z's. At the Bus Stop, I fell asleep again. I know that's stupid but that wasn't the worse yet. I didn't miss the bus. Somewhat, this time, the worst part happened to be the best. Well, I got to sleep for an hour, at the same time, missing my stop and landing myself somewhere in Singapore. Ok... That somewhere is Pasir Ris. Not only did I have to waste money, time and energy. I don't get to sleep!!! That's bad enough for a guy who needs more than 12 hours of sleep now. Anyway, I've to stop here. My eyelids are getting heavier every minute and I can go ZZZ any moment, so bye... for now.

Another School Day - 25 Feb 2008, Monday
The day begins with me being late. I always wake up at 5.30. But somewhat, I accidentally set my alarm to 5.30, well... PM!!! I know I am being stupid. But having my stupidity getting the better of me, I waked up at 6.40. I got ready in 20 minutes. I thought I could be early, taking a taxi with the money my maid gave me. But I was wrong!!! From 7 to 7.25, I was waving frantically like a spastic idiot for a taxi. I got to school 5 minutes late. But I got pass the prefects with my pitiful face. I knew that face would come to use one day. The next seven hours was as normal as any other days. After school, I figured out that I wouldn't have enough money for the rest of the week. So I went to AMK Hub to withdraw some cash. But I took 30 minutes searching for a POSB ATM when it happened to be somewhere outside the Mall. Holy crap!!! Time-wasting!!! And because of that I reached home at 5 after waiting for the rain to stop. But during the mad search for the ATM, I saw Jolene Jie and Rachel Mei. Good thing they didn't saw me, or my sight would have resulted in the improper disposal of their 10 days food (also known as vormitting).

Another NCC Training - 22 Feb 2008
Today, after school, we had to stay back for the Virtual Singapura Programme. It's can be lame sometimes. But other times, it's fun when you get your character flying around like an idiot or lying on the ground like a dead patient. But I'm having NCC Training today!!! I SMSed my Staff Sergeant to inform him that my classmates and I will be late for today's training and he excused us. So I joined the platoon at 3. Being 45 minutes late, we're surprised to find that we didn't miss anything much. We did drills until 6. For Physical Training (PT for short), we ran 2.4 km. It was exhausting but I managed to get a record of 13 minutes and 26 seconds. I took 19 minutes and 36 seconds during PE lesson. I thought I improved remarkably but I didn't. The PE teacher made a calculation error and we ended up running 3 km the last time. That means:
Calculation 1 (During PE) Distance: 3 km Time: 19:36 Average Speed: 153 m/min (corrected to 3 s.f.)
Calculation 2 (NCC Training today) Distance: 2.4 km Time: 13:26 Average Speed: 179 m/min (corrected to 3 s.f.)
The training ended at 7.20 pm. The training this week is an hour longer. I only managed to get home at 8.30, after waiting for the crowded bus.

Catholic High Cross Country Race 2008
Today's Cross Country is just kinda lame, since I was one of the minorities not participating. And because of that, I was in charged of the timing of the Secondary 4's Competitive Race. That's kinda cool!!! OMG!!! The Sec 4s are so pro (improper term for professional). The fastest took 13+ minutes running 4.2 km. How did he do that??? So after taking the timing, I literally slack the whole day, not concerning anything about the Non-competitive Race, also known as the Mass Run. Sianzzz... (improper term to express boringness)
Sorry for the excessive improper term.
After the Cross Country thingy, a few friends and I went to AMK Hub. So from Bishan Park, 6 monkeys (us) took Bus Service Number 165, thinking that they will reach AMK Hub safely and soundly. But they were wrong. We ended up taking the bus from the wrong side of the bus stop, which ended us somewhere in Thomson. But we got ourself on the right track after having our composure regained. After reaching AMK Hub, we walked to the McDonald's which is about a kilometer away. There's a playground there so we chose there. The next hour was spent walking, eating and talking sick jokes. Did I mentioned that sick jokes are extremely common in boys' school? I don't know know about Girls' school but... Man!!! These guys are polluted!!! We went to the playground to fool around after eating. It's so fun... until Wei Liang (a friend who is as playful as 6D-Wei Liang) got my head injured. It's just a small prick. But I guess it still hurts. Good times...

Monkey Business
Today, after school, I followed my family (real) out for tea break. Dad and mum brought us to a "Dim Sum" "Restaurant". It's not really a restaurant, as indicated by the inverted commas. It's a old place. They adopted some kinda Teo Chew style so they were singing and dancing when we went in. How unusual! After the tea break, we went to Lower (and Upper) Pierce Reservoir. It's kind of an "Ulu"(deserted in Malay) place. We found out that place by chance a few years ago.(Actually we lost our way and found out that such a place exist)It's in the Thomson area. There are lots of monkeys there. I got some pictures of the monkeys, some of which are obscene monkey actions:
That's how easy the monkeys can climb into the housing estates
It's not your eyes playing tricks. This monkey is cleaning another monkey's asshole. That's a kind of help they can offer to one another.
There's another monkey picture but I better not show as it's a naked female monkey. And another video comprises of a naked male monkey but for safety reasons, they are not meant to be shown.

The Worst Night in my Life
Yesterday(19 Feb 2008 00:30 - 04:55), I had the worst night ever. I only managed to have 2 hours of sleep despite going to sleep at 12 midnight and getting up at 5.30. It's all because of the creation of a small black irritating insect, also known as the "MOSQUITO". Man... That's just stupid. I wouldn't mind if it just bite me quietly. But it was making stupid sounds around me. Only until 2 that I get myself up, turn the lights on and begin to kill the mozzies. A black thing caught my eye. A mozzie landed on my bed. SMACK!!! Holy spaghetti!!! It was a MISS!!! I saw it again... SMACK!!! YEAH!!! HIT!!! HAHA, LOSERFACE!!! NOBODY (that includes mosquitoes) MESSES UP WITH ME AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!!! YOU BITE ME? YOU PAY!!! HAHA!!! Just when I thought I could get a good rest, that stupid sound returned. MAN!!! But I was too tired to KILL it. So I left it disturbing and biting me the rest of the night. I guess it's still flying around somewhere now. But nevermind. YOU DARNED MOSQUITOES MESS UP WITH ME TONITE AND YOU ARE SO DEAD!!!

A Sneak Peek at Anchovale Community Centre
As stated, my adventerous family went to the not-yet-opened Community Centre at Anchovale. OMG!!! It's damn COOL!!! The indoor sports hall didn't look ready but it's still COOL!!! Not to mention how nice the Swimming Pool looks. It's like a water theme park. COOL!!! The roof top is COOLER!!! You can almost see SengKang, Hougang and Punggol from there!!! Check this out:

That stream would most likely become the second Kallang River in the years to come, with bustling activities like Dragon Boating.

A Week of "Not Feeling Well"
This whole week I am totally not feeling well. Yesterday was what they call "Learning Journey". We have fun fooling around and gulping down with the chips in the bus. As usual, I didn't bring any chips but eat more than enough chips. After the 30 minutes bus journey, we alighted at Singapore Museum (a white building beside YMCA which looks a little like the "White House"). The Singapore Museum has more than 100 years of history and 4 galleries: History (Largest), Wayang, Food and Photography. We viewed 3 galleries but time constrained us from last one, which happens to be the History Gallery. The prohibition of flash photography resulted in the bad quality in the photos, so please bear with it:
The museum had a dome-shaped top
Plates and hawker's stuff
The early form of beverages (F'n'N and Yeo's)
A Olden Family Photo
After the viewing of the galleries, we assembled somewhere. There were some ordinary bright red lamps which didn't happen to be ordinary. They can move, as in swinging. And their formation looks like a wave. That happens every 15 minutes so we were kinda lucky. After that, we headed for Singapore Arts Museum, which is the old building of St. Joseph Institution.
After an hour or two, we checked out the building of our old school. It looks old, very ancient. I don't believe Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong studied there. He's an old boy of our school in case if you're wondering.
The church building at the Old School Building
A block of old classrooms
This signboard is preserved from the 19 century till now. That is what the school was called way back in time: Sino-English Catholic School.
Btw, we ran 2.4 km today. It seemed forever to complete. I took 19 minutes and 36 seconds. It stinks. The best in class runs 14+ minutes and the slowest runs 27+ minutes. We thought we stank (verb: past tense for stinks)
That's all for now. Tata!!!

How I save myself from this situation?
Previously, I had tonnes of problems to solve: 1. My fever (sick) 2. Bio-journal (uncompleted and unprinted homework) 3. Sleepiness (at least 12 more hours of sleep) 4. Hair Check (must cut hair) 5. To save myself from the scolding
The big question is how did I solve them. You know what? I didn't!!! Yup, I didn't solve the problems. Since I am not feeling well, an MC can give me enough time to recover, complete my bio-journal and most importantly, SLEEP... I know that's damn lame. My bad... Hehe...
P.s. I haven't get my hair cut. So I am still in trouble after all.

CNY stinks more than I thought...
This is the worse Chinese New Year I ever had in my life. Everyday, we have to meet those on my mother's side. One of my AhYi kept criticising about stuff. Nobody like her (including the adults), neither do I. I hardly get to meet my cousins in my father's side. Even if we do, the fun only last for less than 30 minutes. My father can't stop nagging (and scolding). As a result, quarrel occured between him and practically everyone. FYI, I am sick. (as in the bacteria and virus infection and not thinking of some dirty stuff in the mind) I have fever, muscleache (This means can't pump!!! Sad...), headache, cough and flu. It makes me feel like a weakling. And yesterday was the first time that I bathe with warm water. The worst part is... I have not completed my Bio-journal homework!!! And there will be a hair check in Week 7. Man, this is Week 7!!! I am so dead!!! Can ME solve all this problems before school starts? Tune in to the next blog entry to find out!!!

The Reunion of The Happy Family
CNY celebration ends in my school at 11.30. The celebration is cool!!! Just that I can't wait for it to end so that I can rush to meet my Old Friends. Anyway, here's a short clip of the celebration:
The Lion Dance Performance from an external organisation
I reached Compass Point at 12.50pm. I went to KFC, where I saw most of my ex-classmates. I miss them so much!!! I sat with the "Happy Family". They were chatting about their school life and stuffs.
P.s. Thank you for the small gifts!!! Sorry for not preparing any gifts... My bad...
After eating, we went to the Library (a place I never liked to go) as Mummy (Rachel) needed to get some books. After the adventure (and the scolding by the Librarian), some of us went to Mei's (Riho) House and some went to Chun Leng's. I went to Mei's House and understood what Weng Tuck meant by _____. After which we went to Seng Kang Sculpture Park. We have lots of fun, running, climbing and playing like some children. After all, "Childish" is my middle name. Finally, I can do 15 commando push-ups. Time goes by when you enjoy it... We left at 3 as some of us need to prepare for their Reunion Dinner tonight. I wish we can have such fun again one day with more people and Teachers.

Close Shave...
The day started with me waking up extra late. Normally, I wake up at 5.35. But today, I was waken up at 7!!! I have to reach school at 7.45. I was so gonna be dead. How can I brush my teeth, take my breakfast, pump and reach school at 7.45??? What could be worse??? Bus Service Number 88 takes 45 minutes fetching me from me to school!!! That means if I leave the house immediately after I wake up, I would still reach school late. Only if I hadn't turned the alarm off thinking that it's irritating and continue sleeping... No choice. I take approximately 30 minutes before I leave the house everyday. But today, I spent 15 minutes. I quickly wake my dad up to fetch me to school. He did it with an open heart and helped me as much as he can. Isn't that touching? At least that's what I thought... He didn't!!! Not only did he kept on reprimanding, he didn't want to take me to school until I was on my knees!!! He stinks!!! FYI, I got to school and wasn't late... That really was a close shave. Anyway, who would want this to happen to them on the eve of Chinese New Year?

Updates for Mastery Reviews (Hooray!!!)
Today, the results of 2 other mastery reviews are released:
Today, we had the whole day of fun (not exactly) in my cousin's house. My cousin (Tiet Gan) decided to give us some Duel Master cards as he had too much. Isn't that compassionate? Unlike Wee Hao, this Tiet Gan guy is far more kind. He isn't very smart nor cool, not to mention how cold his jokes are sometimes. His elder brother is the opposite. He's smart, talented, blah, blah... Although Tiet Gan is kinda lame, he has a heart, and a butt. Jkjk... Unlike Wee Hao, all butt no heart. Tiet Gan allowed us to choose some cards. We did. For the whole day, we played. Then, James, AKA: Mr. Act Cool, came. He is the fat 10-year old cousin of Tiet Gan. He has the best cards in town. So Wee Hao and Wee Zun began to strike some deals with him. Typical. Next, they lick up his boots (Idiom: to side on someone for own's advantage). For some reasons, James started playing "Insultation" with me. I must admit I am getting better at it. What I don't believe is Wee Zun and Wee Hao sided their cousin's cousin (James) instead of their cousin (ME)!!! But it doesn't matter since I am on the winning side. What matters is that he would rather help a stranger than me!!! Next time somebody say that blood is thicker than water, I would really need to think twice. Btw, here are some pictures and a video of the "Lao Yu Sheng" ceremony and my uncle's Birthday (his birthday happens to fall today):
The birthday cake says: Papa Happy Birthday!!! Isn't that sweet?
"Huat ah!!! Toto 4D tao pio ah!!!" (Translation: 1st prize for Toto and 4D!!!)

First NCC Training
Today is an ordinary school day, not until NCC Training began. Btw, did I mentioned that I joined NCC (Land)? Nevermind about that. The training started at 2.15pm and ended at 6.40pm, I think. (Since we are not suppose to wear a watch with me during the training) The drills are kinda cool. But doing the same drill over and over again isn't. We had Physical Training on the last hour. It's the best part. The worst thing about it is the discipline, it's so strict. The Staff and the Sergeants, in which we have to greet whenever we see them, even in toilets, were kinda cool.
Golden Nuggets of the Day: When falling in, : 1. No wearing of watches 2. If there's an object in our hand, we have to hold it with the left hand and keep the hands beside us NO MATTER WHAT. 3. No wearing of ties 4. NO MOVING (Sneezing and coughing included) 5. Hands have to be locked (and straight) 6. Our eyeballs have to face the front 7. No laughing (even if our Staffs are telling jokes) 8. When a question is asked, we SHOUT something like, "Yes, Staff!!!" or No, Staff!!!".
In an event of the rules above being broken, The Section/Whole Lot will have to pump. (usaully 15 - 25, depending on the mood of Staff)
